Here are some tips to help you search the WC&C website. At any time, you can see all the WC&C members in the Member Directory and all events in the Calendar. If you have any trouble or other questions, please contact us.
- The more search terms you select, the narrower your search will be. For example, selecting a location, a date, and a genre will show you only WC&C members that fit ALL of those terms: the location AND the date AND the genre, not the location OR the date OR the genre. Choose fewer terms to expand your search. Select more terms to narrow your search.
- To get a list of all members, leave the form blank and just hit the search button. This will show you WC&C members in all locations, all dates, of all types, and all genres.
- The drop-down menus contain many options. Not only can you search for WC&C members in a certain state, but also a certain country, all in North America, and all international. You can also search by month or for events that take place year-round. Use the scroll bar/arrow on the side of the drop-down in order to see all of your options:
- Use the Reset button to clear the form. This is especially useful if you want to clear the Type choices.
- You can see a list of your search terms at the top of the results page. This will help you remember what you were searching for. Example:
Search terms: All Locations All Dates Conference Fiction - Reminder: the more search terms you select, the narrower your search will be. This applies to the whole search form, as well as to each category. For example, if you select both Fiction and Poetry under genre:
Children's Literature
Creative Nonfiction
Fiction
Playwriting
Poetry
Screenwriting
you will not get results contaning all members that include fiction as well as all members that include poetry. You will get a list of members that include BOTH fiction AND poetry. Therefore, ones that include fiction but not poetry and ones that include poetry but not fiction will not be displayed.
