| Description: | The Summer Fiction Writing Intensive is a week-long course that provides inspiration, feedback, focus, and guidance to writers looking to develop their work. Successful fiction doesn't happen in a vacuum. Over the course of the week, you'll be immersed in daily workshops, reading and discussion, writing exercises and craft demonstrations, as well as readings by guest writers. You'll give and receive feedback in an environment both safe and honest and learn strategies and techniques for deepening a writing practice, strengthening your next piece of fiction writing, and developing your voice. Please make checks payable to UC Regents. We will contact you if your manuscript has been approved. At that time, you will have the opportunity to be enrolled in the seminar. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact the Writing Program: *Accepted students may choose, to submit up to 4,000 words for the workshop, either in extension of their application manuscript or as another self-contained work of fiction, but they may only do so AFTER acceptance.
