Description:

The  Timeless Skill, Timely Craft conference, hosted by the League of Vermont Writers, opens on FRIDAY EVENING with a panel discussion on current issues in the world of publishing, with participants including an intellectual properties attorney from New York, a literary agent, and a publisher active in POD services.

SATURDAY includes an agent's panel to discuss submission protocols and the agent-writer relationship, including information on the status of markets for fiction (literary and genre), non-fiction (prescriptive and narrative), and children's (young readers, middle, and YA).

Seminars and workshops on writing craft are scheduled morning and afternoon, and literary agents from Boston and New York City (Sorche Fairbank, Katherine Sands, Michelle Andelman, Molly Jaffa, Kathleen Anderson, and Kate Epstein ... ) schedule one-on-one sessions with authors throughout the day.

SATURDAY EVENING the keynote speaker is best selling author, CHRIS BOHJALIAN (spring 2010, Secrets of Eden hit #6 on the New York Times best seller list within days of release).

SUNDAY includes a morning of seminars on the business of writing and marketing, with keynote speaker, actor and writer Rusty DeWees on self marketing, and workshops on business issues like contracts, marketing, and discussion of libel and privacy, etc.

Pitch sessions with several agents will continue on Sunday. The day ends at 1 pm after a box lunch and networking.
