Description:

For its 25th year, Summer Writers' Week offers to seasoned and aspiring writers an intensive experience of writing and working closely with renowned poets and writers.  Faculty includes fiction workshops with Alice Elliott Dark and Terese Svoboda; Poetry with Major Jackson; Creative Nonfiction with Rachel Cohen; Writing for Middle Grade/YA with Patricia Lee Gauch; and Mystery writing with Jim Weikart. Agents/Editors panel includes Vicky Wilson (Knopf); Robert Weil (W.W. Norton); Brant Rumble (Scribner); Alice Quinn (Poetry Society of America & formerly The New Yorker); and others. Afternoon workhop leaders include: Ron Hogan (Blogging); Patricia Smith (Capturing an Audience); John Herman (Theme & Meaning in Fiction); Sally Bliumis-Dunn (Art of Translation); Kevin Pilkington (Learning Writing through Reading) and Karen Sirabian (Getting to know the Journals). Keynote address:  Nan Talese, Sr. VP of Doubleday and publisher and editorial director of Nan A. Talese/Doubleday.  Special Reading: Paul Rieckhoff, author of "Chasing Ghosts."
