Description:

Hofstra University's two-week Summer Writing Workshops, a cooperative endavor of the Creative Writing Program, the English Department and the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Advancement.
Writing Workshop Features:
Students can earn 3 undergraduate or graduate credits in 2 weeks.
Group and individual sessions included in each workshop, which total more than 35 contact hours in a genuine workshop enviornment.
Author, editor, and publishing executive readings and presentations
Participate in group readings
Opportunity to read your work to an audience.
Writers-in-residence available for informal discussions
Lodging in residence halls can be arranged for a fee.

Description:

An opportunity for both published and aspiring writers and illustrators to gather with librarians, educators, editors, booksellers, and all others who wish to create or share good children's books.  The program features two general session speakers, six special interest groups (from which registrants may choose two), and a panel of two children's book editors critiquing a half dozen or so randomly selected first manuscript pages submitted by registrants.
