A Place in the Sun: Cape Cod Writers' Center 45th Annual Summer Writers' Conference August 19 -August 24 2007 Young Writers' Workshop for 12 to 16 year olds held the same week. Join other published and aspiring writers in a friendly, inspirational and relaxed atmosphere at the Craigville Beach Conference Center overlooking Nantucket Sound. Spend the week or a day to learn creative techniques, concentrate on your writing, network with other published and aspiring writers and get to know the professional faculty. Most courses run Monday through Friday for 1½ hours daily. Manuscript evaluations (submission deadline 7-16-07) and personal conferences with faculty are available. Evening Speakers Programs on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are open to the community without charge. The Wednesday night Master Class will feature author national bestselling author Claire Cook, (Must Love Dogs and Life's a Beach), International Creative Management agent Tina Wexler and Hartford Courant Books Editor Carole Goldberg. Young Writers' Workshop

Description:

The Young Writers' Workshop is held during the week of the CCWC Annual Summer Conference for serious writers, 12 to 16 years old. These workshops are held in three sessions, in the morning and afternoon, Monday through Friday, August 20 to 24. The prose writing sessions will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am and 1:30 to 3:30 pm and the poetry session will be held from 11:15 am to 1:15 pm. There is no tuition fee for the Young Writers' Workshop, which is made possible through grants and donations. On Thursday, August 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm a Young Writers' Recognition Ceremony is held in the Lodge and parents and friends are invited to celebrate the literary and creative accomplishment of these talented writers.
