| Description: | We love stories and the people who tell them. StoryStudio Chicago is a growing community of writers building Chicago's premier center for writing and related arts. We offer more than 150 classes each year attended by more than 650 students. StoryStudio Chicago focuses on creative writing classes, stimulating discussion, live performance and creating space for writers to talk about writing. We're always looking for opportunities to help you tell your stories better and to a broader audience. Our mission is to foster confidence and creativity in writing and storytelling through teaching, discussion, performance and community building. Writers and performers of all levels-from beginners to professionals-are invited to participate. Our students come from all walks of life, all ages, and all kinds of writing experience. We offer classes year-round in fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, memoir and more. Our Youth Institute gives voice to young writers, and our Business Writing Program--Words for Work--offers unique training to employees at any level who write at work. Our classes and workshops meet at our studio, located at 4043 N. Ravenswood, Chicago. It's easy to get to, easy to park near and offers great karma to get your creative juices going! In early 2011, StoryStudio will unveil its online program offering courses, interactive workshops and monthly "WRITENOW" sessions to writers regardless of their location. Authors and instructors visiting the Chicago area are encouraged to contact StoryStudio for programming opportunities. |
