Faculty: The Loft holds classes, workshops, retreats and festivals throughout the year. The Festival of Children's Literature, for example, is held in the spring. Other recent and upcoming festival topics include Memoir, Magazine Writing, Poetry, and Humor. Festivals typically draw presenters and attendees from around the region and nation. The Loft also contracts with over 400 instructors to teach classes and workshops throughout the year. Description:

The Loft Literary Center is over 30 years old. The Loft's education program supports writers from age four to 94. Not only does the Loft offer classes, workshops, retreats and festivals throughout the year, the organization administers several contest grants to Minnesota writers; hosts readings and events throughout the year featuring local, national and international writers; supports writing/reading/discussion groups; rents the Writers' Studios in the Loft's home at Open Book; publishes a membership publication called A View from the Loft; cosponsors the regional book club, Talking Volumes; administers programs for youth and their parents promoting reading in the home, literacy and a love of literature; curates and hosts a spoken word season promoting writers and artists of color; and much more.
