Description: This wekend conference brings together talented writers in many genres for lectures, seminars, readings, workshops, and individual conferences. The emphasis is on the creative process in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and stage, screenwriting, and journalism. This conference is tailer-made for both the advanced and beginning writer. The conference is held at the beautiful Diastole conference center in midtown Kansas City. Registration includes Saturday and Sunday breakfasts and lunch.

Description:The 29th Annual Mark Twain Creative Writing Workshop will be held from 9:30 to 12:30 each weekday morning, for three weeks, on the UMKC campus. This conference features professional writers instructing the participants on how to write and how to promote their poetry, fiction, journalism, stage and screenwriting. This conference is designed for both the advanced and the beginning writer. Participants will receive workshop analysis and private manuscript consultations.
