| Faculty: | Maureen Brady, award winning author, creative writing teacher, and freelance editor has published three novels: Ginger's Fire, Folly, and Give Me Your Good Ear, and a collection of short stories: The Question She Put to Herself, as well as three books of nonfiction. Maureen teachers creative writing at NYU and The New York Writers Workshop at the Jewish Community Center of Manhattan and is currently working on a memoir about friendship. |
| Description: | This workshop will introduce you to new and creative ways to focus on your stories/manuscripts with renewed inspiration through daily meetings in peer workshops to go over both new material and revisions, inspirational and motivational techniques for those writers who struggle with writer's block, and constructive critiques for each writer from peers and from the instructors. |

| Faculty: | Brandi Reissenweber is a writer and a teacher. Her fiction has received several awards, including grants from Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs, and has appeared in journals like the North Dakota Quarterly, Rattapallax and Elixir. Her writing on the craft of fiction has appeared in Writing Fiction, and she edits Letterpress, an e-newsletter for fiction writers. She is currently the James C. McCreight Fiction Fellow at the University of Wisconsin and will be a writer-in-residence for the Kerouac Project of Orlando and teaches fiction workshops for Gotham Writers Workshop. Brandi holds an MFA from New York University. |
| Description: | Writers of all levels from beginner to professional are welcome, as well as anyone interested in self-exploration and expression through the written word. We will work together to help all participants realize their intentions in fiction in a nurturing, honest and productive environment. Each day, Brandi will provide instruction on the craft of fiction and the creative process with: lessons on aspects of the craft, tailored to the group's needs; writing exercises; scheduled one-on-one instruction with individually tailored feedback; and the opportunity to share your writing and receive constructive group feedback. |
